The other awardees are Prof. Wong Siu Lun of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, who won the prize in the field of Life and Health; Dr. AU Man Ho Allen and Prof. LUO Xiapu of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, who won the prize in the field of New Materials and New Energy; and Prof. CHEUNG Chi Fai of the University of Hong Kong, who won the prize for Advanced Manufacturing and FinTech.

The prize was established by the Hong Kong Alliance of Technology and Innovation and sponsored by the Bank of China (Hong Kong) Limited. Experts from around the globe are invited to select outstanding scientific researchers for the prize in different fields, including Artificial Intelligence and Robotics, Life and Health, New Materials and New Energy, and Advanced Manufacturing and FinTech. Only one person or team will be rewarded in each field every year. The prize aims to encourage scientific researchers in Hong Kong to persist in innovative exploration, establish themselves in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and serve society and contribute to the world. The winning Laureates will be presented with the prizes at an awards ceremony on December 16.
