Hong Kong Pools – The Best Places to Cool Off This Summer

As a city, Hong Kong is home to some of the most beautiful swimming pools in the world. Not only are they a great place to cool down and enjoy the sun but they also have many health benefits. They are also a fun activity to do with your family and friends.

Swimming has been found to relieve stress, improve moods and increase cardiovascular endurance. Plus, it’s a great workout that can help with weight loss. So why not get your swim on this summer? It’s the perfect time of year to visit a hongkong pool and let the summer heat melt away!

From soaring rooftop pools to stunning indoor options, we’ve put together a list of some of the best swimming pools in hongkong. Then, once you’re all refreshed and tanned, you can relax by the pool with a delicious cocktail from one of HK’s finest bars!

The first public pool in Hong Kong, Morrison Hill Swimming Pool is a family favourite. It’s a short walk from Wan Chai and easily accessible by bus (the 116 from Causeway Bay takes us about 20-30 minutes). The pool is located right next to Belcher’s Bay Park, so after your swim, you can let the kids burn off any remaining energy on the playground or take them for a run around the water park!

Designed by the British firm Derek Walker Associates, this pool was built as part of a greater redevelopment and expansion project of Kowloon Park that was completed in 1989. Its exceptional Roman-inspired design and statuesque columns create a luxurious, palatial setting that feels a world away from the hustle and bustle of the city streets below. While swimming here, you can enjoy a sweeping view of the iconic Hong Kong skyline.

The Ritz Carlton’s indoor pool is a must-visit in Hong Kong. Resting at the 118th floor of the International Commerce Center – aka, a skyscraper – the pool is surrounded by mirrored ceilings and LED walls that showcase an illusion of coral reefs. The result is a spectacular experience that will make you feel like you’re swimming in the clouds!

Kerry Hotel’s modern outdoor infinity pool is a breath-taking addition to the cityscape. It’s almost completely surrounded by glass, so the views of Victoria Harbour are unobstructed and spectacular. Plus, the rooftop is decorated with lush plants, which adds to the relaxing atmosphere of this pool. If you plan on hanging out by the pool, we recommend visiting during sunset for a romantic evening of lounging and cocktails! Check out their famous Red Sugar terrace bar for a poolside feast.
